A beautiful original watercolour on paper painting attributed to the Begian artist Ferdinand Toussaint (1873-1955) titled "Vase Fleur". Depicts a softly toned still life with delicate Mock Orange flowers in a jug. Toussaint was a popular post impressionist artist known for his still lives and figurative work. His works sell brilliantly at auction with his oils fetching tens of thousands. Mm: 33 x 46 cm.
Toussaint was born in Belgium and studied in Paris under the well known artist Alfred Stevens. He specialised in painting portraits of women, still lifes and cityscapes, in the Impressionist, Art Nouveau, and Post-Impressionist styles in oils and watercolours. He is also known for his beautiful floral still lifes and interiors, coastal views and seascapes.
