Super Star Lot : A Set of rare Irish Uilleann Pipes, stamped with the maker Leo Rowsome Dublin (1903-1970) . Three pieces stamped, Rowsome Dublin. Not sure if they are complete. There is also another pig skin Bellows bag.
Leo Rowsome (1903–1970) was one of Ireland’s most important uilleann pipers, pipe makers and teachers. Born in Harold’s Cross, Dublin, he represented the third generation of the Rowsome piping family and learned pipe making from his father, William Rowsome. At just 16, he became uilleann-pipe teacher at Dublin’s Municipal School of Music, a position he held for approximately 50 years.

Following his father’s death in 1925, Rowsome continued the family workshop, producing complete sets of pipes renowned for their strong tone, fine workmanship and carefully made reeds. He was also a pioneering broadcaster and recording artist, revived the Dublin Pipers’ Club and helped establish Na Píobairí Uilleann. Known as “Rí na bPíobairí” — King of the Pipers, his instruments are now highly regarded by players and collectors, and his own handmade set is preserved in the National Museum of Ireland.
